To maintain law and order, 229 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country.
Yesterday, protesting students announced that they will enforce a “complete shutdown” today nationwide in response to the actions taken by law enforcement on various campuses.
Asif Mahmud, one of the movement organizers seeking reform in government jobs, made the announcement via a Facebook post, which he later shared with journalists.
According to his post, no establishments, except hospitals and emergency services, will be allowed to open, and no vehicles, except ambulances, will be permitted to operate.
